All water systems that have at least 15 service connections or regularly serve at least 25 people for at least 60 days a year are regulated by ADEQ under the Safe Drinking Water Act. The Act requires that all public water systems meet specific construction and water sampling requirements.
The Pit-Falls: There are a large number of requirements for constructing and operating a drinking water system. Failure to meet all these requirements can result in enforcement actions. Additionally, all public drinking water systems are required to conduct ongoing sampling. Failure to comply with all the ongoing testing requirements can lead to multiple violations.
